Tell us what you plan to do and how many people will be participating in the activity. We will post the information on our Events page so others will know about your plans. PRIVACY NOTE - We will respect your privacy, but we would like to provide some information about who is doing the activity. For example: "The Jones family of Winnipeg is collecting leaves for their compost." Or "Students at Smart Street School in Brandon are holding a litterless lunch day on October 22." Or "My Local Business is starting a recycling program in their office." Or "The R.M. of Spirited Energy has declared Waste Reduction Week and is having an open house at the recycling depot." We won't make individual names, telephone numbers or e-mail addresses public. 2. Register your event through the national web site of Waste Reduction Week in Canada. On their site, click the Register tab and select a category -- Municipalities, Schools, Businesses, Not-for-Profit Organizations, Municipalities/Governments, or Individuals. These are easy, practical ways to help yourself, your community and the environment. About Waste Reduction Week 2010 is the tenth year for WRW in Manitoba. Communities, schools and businesses around the province are taking part. It's a chance to highlight the need for action on waste and to encourage participation in waste reduction and diversion programs. Resource Conservation Manitoba co-ordinates Waste Reduction Week 2010 in Winnipeg, with support from Manitoba Conservation, Multi-Material Stewardship Manitoba, Manitoba Hydro, and the City of Winnipeg. Communities outside Winnipeg can also check with the Manitoba Association of Regional Recyclers for information on Waste Reduction Week.
